Kayaking and agoutis delight

Waking up to amazing views of Lago de Izabal was magical! The kayaking adventure was refreshing, and the local wildlife, like the friendly agoutis, made each meal nice.

While the location was fine, my room could have used more attention to cleanliness, and the pool area felt a bit neglected at night due to poor lighting.

Picturesque and stunning location for our visit to a Spanish colonial fort around 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel. Greatly enjoyed very nice area.

lovely location in a very very nice area so close to the old fort. a nice size and huge room with climate control, television and a sitting area, and very comfy bed. very helpful staff, wonderful stay.

A rollercoaster of pros and cons

Very nice vistas and spacious accommodations. The restaurant served fantastic meals, and kayaking around the lake was a refreshing experience.

Some facilities felt outdated and needed repairs. The swimming pool area lacked adequate lighting during evening hours, affecting its usability.

There are loads of agoutis that eat from your hand in the restaurant. The kayaking experience was enjoyable and the pool was very picturesque. The service could be improved, and the weather affected outdoor activities.

The family room was comfortable, but the footpaths were chipped and dirty.

The lake view was amazing, and my two sons loved the spacious family room. The restaurant's breakfast was a hit with everyone, especially the local dishes! We enjoyed kayaking.

In my wife's opinion, more kid-friendly activities would be great.

Unique wildlife dining experience

In a fine lakeside location, the spacious family room offered an excellent view. Free kayaking was a highlight, alongside delicious homemade ice cream from the restaurant, perfect for a hot day. Service was occasionally slow, and some room upgrades are clearly needed to enhance the experience. The area is lacking in activities, necessitating boat rentals for exploration, but the tranquil atmosphere makes for a great escape from the hustle and bustle.

The grounds were beautiful, and i loved the chance to kayak for free on the lake. It was relaxing to hang out by the pool, often empty. And agoutis eat from my hand during meals was such a unique experience!

Enjoying the fine views of the lake from various decks was a highlight, alongside the good freshness of the freshly made sandwiches at the restaurant. Some facilities could use better maintenance, specifically the swimming pool area, which lacked sufficient lighting for evening use. Occasionally, there were issues with slow service during busy hours, which impacted the overall dining experience.

The restaurant had fine views of Lago de Izabal, perfectly complemented by the good ambiance of outdoor dining, making it an enjoyable experience for seniors like myself who appreciate beautiful surroundings while meals are served.

Some areas need better lighting for safety at night.

Staying in Villa 101 offered good space and a amazing view of the lake, improved with the relaxing hammock on the porch. Free kayaking complemented the dining experience, highlighted by delicious seafood and tostones. My only concern was the occasional slow service during busy times. A nice getaway!

The surroundings were beautiful with lush greenery and wildlife like agoutis sharing meal times at the restaurant (not every day you get so close to nature). The kayaking experience was enjoyable and the outdoor dining area felt relaxing.

The cleanliness of my room left something to be desired and the noise from the air conditioning was pretty disruptive at night.
